Fit Machines

Privacy Policy

Updated October 16, 2026

Fit Machines is made by Taphive GmbH, Frankfurt am Main, Germany (see our imprint). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app. The short version: we don't collect any. What you enter stays on your device and in your own iCloud.

What you enter

Your household's name, your machines (their names, colors, rooms and notes), their routines and schedules, and the history of when each routine was done. If you enter your name in Settings > Household, it is shown next to the routines you tick off.

This information is stored on your device. If iCloud is turned on, Apple's iCloud keeps it in sync across your devices, in your private iCloud storage. Taphive has no access to it and runs no servers that receive it.

Sharing a household

If you invite someone, the household and everything in it (machines, routines, history and the names shown in it) is shared with them through iCloud, and they can see and change it. You can manage sharing or remove people at any time in Settings > Household. If someone shares a household with you, it is stored in their iCloud, and you can leave it at any time.

Notifications

Notifications are scheduled on your device. They contain your machines' names and routines and are not sent through us.

Motion and phone calls

While a machine's page is open, the app reads your device's motion sensors so the character can slide when you tip the device. While that page is open it also notices whether a phone or FaceTime call is in progress, so the character can wave. It does not learn who you're talking to, any phone numbers, or anything else about the call. None of this is stored or sent anywhere.

Purchases

The Gym Membership is sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. The app checks your subscription with Apple on your device. Apple's handling of purchases is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

What we don't do

This website

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking. Everything on it, including fonts, is served from this site. Like any web server, our host processes your IP address to deliver the pages.

When you contact us

If you email us (for example with Report a bug or Request a machine in the app's Settings), we receive your email address and what you write. Report a bug fills in the app version, your device model and iOS version, which you can remove before sending. We use this only to answer you, and delete it when it's no longer needed for that.

Deleting your data

Delete a machine, with its routines and history, by pressing and holding it and choosing Delete. Deleting the app removes its data from that device. To remove the copy in iCloud, open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then iCloud, and manage the storage used by Fit Machines.

Your rights

For the emails you send us, Taphive GmbH is the controller, and we process them to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Data stored in iCloud is processed by Apple as described in Apple's Privacy Policy. You have the right to access, rectify or erase your data, to restrict or object to its processing and to data portability, and you can lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

Children

Fit Machines is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
